If you’re completely new to the ecommerce game, or in other words, if you have no product, then this blog will help you put things in perspective a little bit.

So, obviously the business model here is the we buy for cheap and sell for more (the private label model). To start off we’re gonna need a product, then we’re gonna need to sharpen our marketing skills to sell our product.

Step#1: Find a hot selling product

Amazon tells us! Here is a list of top 100 selling products on Amazon in each category. http://amazon.com/bestsellers

These days there are many softwares out here that work almost like a crystal ball, showing you in a nice & clean manner what products are selling, and how much they’re making per month etc etc

Now, obviously it’s not as straight forward as just picking what’s on the list, there is a strategy behind product selection. When I first started selling on Amazon this was a huge mission as we didn’t have any softwares available back then, we had to work on Microsoft excel.

My recommended tool is Jungle Scout. Nice & simple. Check it out here http://junglescout.com

Step #2: Find a Supplier/Manufacturer for your chosen product

This is straight forward. There many many websites these days that connect us with Suppliers & Manufacturers. You can find a Supplier for almost anything. China. They’re pumping out products. No shit.

Go to Alibaba, type in your product name, message or chat with these Sales reps live. These are trained Sales reps with great English, so you can expect a great service (mostly).

Step #3: Brand your products

Design that nice logo. Design that nice packaging. Design everything from A-Z. You’ll love this process, and actually learn a lot from this process. You don’t have do all this yourself, of course. You can simply hire a designer from www.upwork.com or any other freelancer website and get the job done.

Step #4: Shipping & Amazon account set-up

Once your products are ready, it’s time to get them shipped to Amazon’s FBA warehouses, and making sure that your Amazon listings are looking good. This means, your product photography is top notch, your keywords, and your product descriptions are sussed out.

Step #5: Start Selling & Marketing

Okay! So, our products are now at Amazon. It’s time to hit the road! If there is ONE goal now, it is to get your listing seen. That’s it. This is where Amazon Sponsored marketing comes in.

Master this, and you’ll always know how to sell shit.
